We didn't expected much actually from the outside, but then we absolutely changed our minds!
Our room was kinda big and it was really close to the bathrooms and the shared rooms that were in our floor.
The kitchen was unbelievably clean and big. You had everything you may need to cook! In the TV lounge we also found so many cool movie that are also new which was amazing.
We really enjoyed staying there also because the staff is really nice and we LOVED the breakfast!
There is also a really cool view of the city from the top of the building.
The only "negative" thing is that you need to pay to use the WiFi (usually at least you have 30 minutes in the other hostels), but still we survived.

Sophie was awesome, cool to chat to and very helpful. The room was clean and tidy, even came with a heater. Loved the company and the atmosphere. Had a great stay in Napier at Toad Hall.

Pretty basic backpackers. The rooms aren't sound proof so make sure to bring your ear plugs especially due to loud guests and banging doors. The bathrooms and showers are very basic, water pressure can vary widely between them so choose wisely in the morning.

The hallways have fire doors that are jammed open and I'm pretty sure the heater in the dining room is a fire risk since it smells like gas in there. I'm not sure what the fire department would think if they visited.

Pretty cheap though. Sophie was really lovely though.

Great! Absolutely funky place. I love it heaps. Please read and feel whether the place appeals to you before booking, dont look only at price. I love it. The house has character- rooms are neat-funky atmosphere. You cant build this style. It grows! Highly recommend to anyone looking gor funky place.

Great service. Breakfast included. Pays to see the place online then call and book in person they'll generally waive the commission so we got $10 discount!

Nice hostel and also staff was okay, but it is a really old house. The rooms and facilities in general could be cleaner. The smell of the kitchen was everywhere. It is close to main road so it was noisy but a good thing it is just a fiew meters outside the city centre.
