nice place, friendly assistant, nice lounge that you can enjoy pool and piano there, but the WiFi is limited that only 500mb.

We had a lovely time at this great hostel. Checked in for one night and added on one night because it was so great! Clean and lots of space and the owner is a gem- she's very friendly and helpful. Her dogs and cats are around, which made it very homey. If we're ever in Abel Tasman again we will stay here again for sure. Highly recommend

Stayed already 3 times (1x2014, 2x2017) at the White Elephant. Rooms especially the ones in the backyard and the garden are really nice. One down point at the last visits, the kitchen was very dirty. Therefore 4 out of 5.

Wow. The White Elephant is a gem. One of a kind backpacker hostel. The owners really care about there guests. If you are lucky you may share your room with a cat!

Beaaautiful place. Only downer is the wifi. Only one free hour. But you can purchase more if you need.

Loved staying here, from the time I made the first phone call to the time I checked out Pam and Rex were so friendly and helpful.
We stayed there for about 3 weeks and all loved the atmosphere of the place, beautiful gardens round the front and a small Orchard with various fruit trees out the back, showers we great, kitchen is the best I've seen in a hostle, rooms and beds had good character and very comfortable and warm at night.
Free WiFi allowance per day. We stayed for a weekly rate which was the cheapest I've had in nz.
And two beautiful cats roaming the property, miss you poppy.
