  Too expensive, looks very old inside, not much space, friendly son of the owner, very familiar because of less people.

  Homelike and friendly hostel the owner Jean Pierre is awesome and will give you the best tips on where to go and what to see in the Catlins!

  Two friends of mine and myself stayed with Jean Pierre in March 2017 and we enjoyed it so much. It's a very cozy and beautiful place with maybe 4 or 5 bedrooms but with a big living room. The owner Jean Pierre loves meeting his guests and we talked for hours at dinner. I would definitely recommend this Hostel to everyone who is not afraid of sharing the kitchen with the owner and meeting a fair and great host who has a lot of stories to share.
  
  Concerning the last review from Ali Hicks: Jean Pierre apparently receives a lot of phone calls every week from people who booked a room and then cancel because of a broken down car Seems to be the favorite excuse of those who changed their mind, which makes it hard for those whose car really broke down

  I am not one to write reviews but this one definitely deserves the public to know about. My friend and I recently booked with this hostel, and last minute had to cancel due to a broken down car. Dealing with the owner, Jean Pierre, was an absolute nightmare. He personally texted me (I had to supply my phone number for the booking) and lied so many times about the cancellation fees and tried ripping us off. He was beyond rude!!! I ended up having to contact BBH headquarters because I knew what the cancellations policy was and that was the only way to get my money back he continued to lie to me after calling to inquire again. Please do not stay here, I wonder how many other people he has lied to and ripped off money.

  Easy booking, beautiful place, we had a great stay. The owner is amazing and makes you feel really welcomed. Definitely recommended.
