Lovely location friendly staff good food. Recommended.
Better menu, great views. Watch out for the seagulls if you sit outside! Definitely don't feed them or leave your table unattended :-D
The room was really spacious, the bed comfortable and the shower fantastic. A real bonus having breakfast provided.I would rate this place with a 5 but we found the noise from the bar and restaurant downstairs (and loud talking outside) annoying. We could also hear the man snoring in the next room. Even so it was certainly good value for the price.
A little run down from my previous visits, but the staff awesome! This more of a pub now than a fine dining experience.
From the greeting we received we should have taken that as a sign and turned around and walked out.
1 x Chicken Schnitzel & 3 x Chicken Fettuccine, plus child size Fettuccine (Far to much Parmesan on the plate for a child) meals ordered, one specifically ordered with no mushrooms, All incredibly tasteless! Our table happened to be opposite the open kitchen. When waiting for our meals, we overheard the Chef stating to the Waitress, "we can't serve the fettuccine with no mushrooms as it is pre-made, but i can work my magic " we took the chefs words and accepted the meal. Quarter of the way through the meal, mushrooms were found and could no longer eat it. Spoke with the Manager in charge before leaving, she disagreed with what was overheard. We did not appreciate being laughed at in this situation, from said Manager.
I've written a glowing review of this place once before because I rate it highly and I want to add to that now.
Tonight for the first time there was an issue with my meal, the issue is irrelevant but there was an issue nonetheless, which is never a nice situation to be in.
I can't complement the staff enough for the way it was dealt with, no fuss, no embarrassing situation just a good professional attitude and the situation was calmly rectified.
You sometimes find as much put about a place when things don't quite go according to plan as you do when they do.
STILL HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
😊
Cool looking place nice looking lunch menu I was very happy with the BLT with chips at $16 but the service was a little lack luster it was like we were an inconvenience eating in there pub.My family also had the beer batter fish and seemed to be good not to greasy.
Great campervan friendly carpark..$8 coffee and scone deal..rich creamy coffee and real butter with scone..sat by edge of outdoor dining area.. friendly staff.
Friendly staff. Great atmosphere and live music including Jazz. Quaint rooms full of a bygone era. Menu for everyone and drinks very reasonable. Picturesque and really fabulous plus for Weddings or a get-a-way.
A great spot to let the kids runs round in the beer garden. Great British brews and Kiwi ales.
Great location and building. Just like a good English pub. Food it pretty good. Accommodation is tidy.
Seven of us were here for dinner last night, it took over an hour for our meals to be served there was no mention of this at the time of placing our order, six meals were served all at once the seventh was a ribeye and the waitress explained the chef ( and I use that term lightly) had over rested the steak and was cooking another, all OK with that until the steak arrived over cooked and dry, perhaps by making me wait they thought they could serve me the original and I wouldn't notice,a replacement was served after returning the first one but I was over it as I was eating on my own at this time. Waitresses and waiter friendly enough but wouldn't recommend or return there.
