Green Man is "unpretentious". Depending on your mood, this is either exactly what you're looking for, or a euphemism.
My recent visit was for a buffet-style work event. It was acceptable! Leaned a bit heavily on high energy (stir fried vegetables ran out almost immediately), but I have definitely had worse.response / report this review -

We went there for dinner. The staff was super friendly. I ordered some beef and it was cooked to perfection. We shared a bottle of red Merlot and it was quite good. The over all experience was amazing and I would highly recommend it for a nice meal or a beer with friends. Prices are proportional to what you get One little thing it's an Irish pub and it didn't have Guinness never mind. It was amazing anyways.

We looked on the Internet for good places where we could get some good steaks so we read few reviews, but we didn't expected that!
This pub is amazing! The steaks were so unbelievably good!
We went there on Wednesday where all the wine is cheaper than usually and we took a bottle which was really good.
The prices are perfect for what you get and the portions are big enough (still we wanted to try a dessert, totally worth it!)

In a city of sterile bars that feel like cash milking sheds, The Green Man is incredibly refreshing with different but equally homely areas and a large and extremely warm area for those who like to smoke, without affecting anyone else. Brilliant. Great range of beer and superb food too.

Pricey but we used vouchers. the food is fab! I would recommend this but be prepared to spend! But for great food, the green man is a must! The service was great too :)

Great spot all day from breakfast to late at night. They host four BNI's - business networking groups which I look after for breakfast and do a great job for them.

Crazy night due to convert but service excellent. Thanks to our waitress who was awesome (working big shift and due back at 6 in the morning!!). Food was great too.

Great service by a seemingly endless fleet of friendly bar staff. Meals were well above average, the Burgers are pretty awesome and the chips and curry sauce are just what you want on a wet and windy Wellington day. Wide selection of Beers, Ciders and wines.
A great place for a lunch, and a great place to grab that one last beer before heading home for the night.response / report this review -

We dropped by for a lunch and had a couple of $15 steaks (Tuesday's deal). The steaks were of a decent size and cooked nicely. Served with chips and mushroom sauce - we couldn't finish our plates!
The personnel were very friendly and attentive. Our meals were served within 10 minutes.
Overall this place is definitely worth a visit and we will come back again.response / report this review
