Terrible water pressure for warm water in the shower, a normal shower of 5 minutes took me probably half an hour instead. What irked me the most was when the staff on duty came up to check and told me that it’s normal, how is it normal to stand at the curved part of the bath tub to shower? Will not return ever, id rather sleep in my car.

This is definitely the worst hotel on my trip in the south island. No toiletries, dirty kitchen and cutleries, smoke alarm beeping throughout the day, no dishwasher, no tissue. Definitely not coming back!!

Amazing views at a reasonable price. Spa facility was also pretty neat. Only downfall is no microwave and cooking not being allowed in hotel rooms. Forces guests to eat out, and defeats the purpose of a cheap hotel.

Upgrade was worth it, beautiful view and food was good. Only negative was the water pressure in the shower.. Was basically a bird bath.

Way overpriced. I guess this place was last renovated in the 1980's. It's not a Hotel, it's a motel. Need to climb an outside wood staircase in a snowstorm to get to my room. Seriously! Nice view of the lake from some of the rooms.

View was amazing and bed was comfortable. Staff were very nice. Only a very short walk to the Tekapo church and it was a good stay overall.
There were no knives or forks in the room, no microwave or toaster either and the "Free WIFI" has a limit of 500MB per room. The room was very dated and a crack in the yellow glass window of 403 did let a decent amount of cold through.response / report this review -

The restaurant experience was amazing. The owner Sam personally served us and was very friendly, polite and sweet. The food was great and the portions super generous. The atmosphere was relaxing with calming ambient jazz music. The restaurant is well furnished and comfortable. Overall a wonderful experience and I would totally come here again.

This place is a dump. Maybe 1 star at best. I don't know where websites or travel agents get their ratings from. Maybe they need to visit and see for themselves. Mildewed in shower, has not been painted in years, furniture all banged up. I could go on. Good location and w a view of the lake but that doesn't make it worth it. Pass it up

The unit we were given this time was a disaster.
The refrigerator thermostat was broken and froze our salads and meats we had brought for dinner. The hotel bar manager did offer a free wine and hot chips while we waited for the meal to defrost.
The heating in the room was insufficient for the unit and made rattling noises all night.
The bed was too small and my feet stuck out the bottom.
There was no hot water for a shower in the morning.
The lounge chair in the room was unsafe to sit on.
Staff just said sorry the next morning. Not even an offer of a hot shower in a different unit or a partial refund on the cost of the room.response / report this review
