Lovely, clean and quiet. It's only a ten minute walk to the attractions like The Church of The Good Shepherd and the bronzed dog. Even though our room didn't have a lake view, the lake is only a couple of minutes away. We had the garden view.

We had another fabulous time. We stayed at Henkel Hut for three nights and the view was amazing! The location of the hut was very private and quiet. We loved it! Thank you Zita and Walter for another fantastic stay! The Chalet is definitely a hidden gem in Lake Tekapo.

We have been staying at The Chalet for many years, it is our home away from home in Tekapo. Zita and Walter have become firm friends and are really treasures. It is very unusual to have house-like amenity with daily motel like service. The larger units have full kitchens and full size refrigerators so one can shop from the local supermarket (walking distance across the new footbridge) and cook and eat in, in front of the fire. Zita thinks so everything so one can find e.g. a potato masher when one needs it. There isp lenty of beautiful walking and cycling from The Chalet and of course the famous Church of the Good Shepherd and dog statue are right in front. Magnificent views over the lake too.

One of the greatest stay I had during my visit to New Zealand. The room is cosy, the laundry was very convenient and the location is great: in front of the lake and walking distance to the chapel and the restaurant nearby.

Will come back again !! Probably will choose the larger front room next time. ~ Highly recommended.
