I was thinking to find an accommodation after I arrived Christchurch. Lucky I stopped over and started to search nearby at Darfield. It turned out that I’m the only guest tonight. I like old-fashioned country type house. The interior are quite classic, clean, cozy and well-equipped. Yet it’s enjoyable to see sunset and sunrise.

Maybe better in warmer months. Dinner was lovely but expected hot breakfast though continental was ok

Didn't like the food tastes very plain and the dining area is not very nice.

My Husband and I had the winter package deal with Hamish. We stayed the night .It was my birthday so we invited a few people to share the dinner with us.What a wonderful old house warm and cosy. We had a delicious meal a challenge for the Chef as one was vegetarian and one was gluten free. We sat round the fire and talked what a night. Breakfast next morning was so peaceful and cooked breakfast was required by hubby which he thoroughly enjoyed . I enjoyed the pasties. What a wonderful way to pass away a winter weekend. I highly recommend it and Hamish was excellent.
