Great location with amazing views over the sea and mountains. It’s perfect located to Abel Tasman Park and Kaiteri - both take just a few minutes scenic drive. The lodge is beautiful designed with spacious common places. Franziska and Daniel are great hosts. Highly recommend it.
Split Apple Lodge is not only a perfect place just because of the location. The house is extraordinary tidy and clean, the bedrooms are large and the beds are comfortable. The property is just excellent. But what makes this place outstanding and unique is the personality and warmth the owners offer their guests. We were so well taken care of we wish we did not have to leave. Breakfast earlier than usual? No problem. The buffet is expansive and wonderful, every plate is decorated thoughtful and you can see someone spent more than one thought on the guests while preparing it. Leaving to a day trip? Beach towels are handed to you without even asking for them. Coming home after a long day? Crackers, Cheese, water (with fresh mince!) and fresh Coffee is waiting for you - on the house. Everywhere you will find small goodies and extras we haven’t had anywhere else (chips, fruit, drinks, chocolate….). Sitting outside reading a book? Suddenly Fran will come and hand you a blanket. Just to make sure you don’t get cold. Tour recommendations and bookings, restaurant reservations, directions, ideas, you name it. It’s right there, before you even know you need it. This place is heaven and you need to experience yourself to understand the aura of this Lodge. We will be back, as soon as we can."
Fran & Daniel are excellent hosts, their attention to our comfort was heart warming.
Excellent modern eco-friendly Lodge with plenty of space and majestic views at almost all the sides.
A friendly couple running the place where kind enough to arrange for an earlier breakfast when we needed it.
This was a good place to rest after our Abel Tasman kayaking trip which start point is located in the village at the foot of the hill.
