I rent a performance snowboard and binding from Snowbiz. When I got to Coronet peak, I found the front left binding can't be tightened at all. And it is not realistic to spend another two hours to go back and get them exchanged. This binding constantly fell off my boot and you all know when you have a loose binding it pretty much ruins all your turns and jumps and your whole day. The next day I went back and returned the items, the staffs there insisted that it is normal to be loose as it is a rental item only. I have been snowboarding for four years and I've never used a binding like this before. This will be considered as a broken binding for me while snowbiz staffs reckon it is normal and they will tighten them up in the future. They also asked me they have agreement with coronet ski resort why didn't I exchange my binding when I was there. I have never been told that before when I was there the first day. My snow trip in NZ will only be 4days, and there goes one day without doing much at all because of Snowbiz's disappionting binding.

I'd definitely recommend hiring gear from snowbiz, and go to the store in Queenstown. They are really helpful and nicer to deal with than the gear hire on top of the mountains. An added bonus is picking your gear up in town the night before means you can skip the queues and chaos on the mountain and get straight into skiing once you are at the ski fields.
