Restaurant mainly for tourist. Risotto was ok. The oysters were great. Waitress was friendly and helpful but a little forgetful. My knife had some kind of sticky substance on it.
When you pay with credit card, the machine asks if you want to include a tip. This is the first time I've encountered this in NZ. Other places have never asked for a tip. It's my understanding that NZ is not a tipping culture as the waitstaff gets a decent salary unlike the US where waiters receive low pay and have to earn part of their paycheck from tips.

Friendly staff, the sous vide steak was tender and the crust was delicious. The confit duck was disappointing, but the lychee and candied orange peel salad was a decadent and refreshing finish to an overall tasty meal. The wait staff were courteous and attentive. Thank you.

Pretty disappointing. We were a large group so had a set menu. No vegetarian options, despite having advised in advance that some diners were vegetarian. One diner in our group was told a vegetarian option could be provided only for people who are actually vegetarians (he wouldn't be making the request if he wasn't).
The duck salad starter varied quite a bit depending on which plate you were served. For a duck salad, there was only about a teaspoon of duck so it seemed rather misleading. The steak for the main was overcooked and the spinach it was served with was so salty it was inedible.
On the plus side, the kids menu looked pretty good.

The most amazing food. Definitely try the chowder and the lamb. They even make brussel sprouts taste lovely

Not very personable and warm 'kiwi' customer service. Loud and busy atmosphete. The waitresses were incompetent. The booking manager was not very good at following through with what she said she would (sending emails etc). Food was average, depending on what you ordered (as some dishes were actually nice). All in all was a not very satisfactory dining experience.

Nicely presented food, cook perfectly. Service was great. The kids menu food was cooked to the same high standard as the main menu. Loved it.

Decent service and absolutely amazing food. My husband and I had the seafood chowder and raw seafood salad to start, and the market fish (groper) for our mains. Stick to the seafood on this menu, that's what these guys do best.

Wow! Was really impressed with the friendly efficient service. The view is relaxing and the table is beautifully set out. We went for a light lunch and found the entrees to be a reasonable and good size for lunch along with some fresh bread and a few oysters. The food was delicious and a good variety of wines as well. We were disappointed that we couldn't get fresh oysters that day but the lightly battered ones were really tasty.
