Nowhere near as good as when I was a kid. Multiple visits over the past 5 years to see if it's just a bad night, but nope, it is horrible. The banoffee pie was the only good I enjoyed, and I enjoy most food
To avoid fathers day rush we went for breakfast the day before had not realized sequoia did breakfast but awesome we Paid $40 for two adults and two preschoolers were served by a very helpful lady called Elsie (I think) who really went the extra mile for the kids! Impressed, inexpensive, nice food. Will definitely be going again
This place is so good now with a very good new look as the Redwood Bar has new look and a Pizza bar as well. So I am so happy to come back here and I would be letting my friends know if they come to Christchurch for weekend your have Holiday come to Sequoia 88 at Redwood Bar
We have a good night at Sequoia restaurant and hotel. The dessert and seafood is very delicious and many choices. My children is very happy here. Thanks all staff at the restaurant and hotel. We would like to go back here to stay and have dinner if we come to Christchurch again.
Was good but they have taken wonton off menu I won't be coming back next time I'll go to garden city for buffet meal I will only return if they have wontons
The food was not worth the money I paid. We went for dinner at 6pm. I expected the food to be fresh and hot but it was terrible. You don't need to taste it to know how the food looks old and dried. The wedges and fried fish were the only food it was hot from the oven. The teriyaki chicken were hard to chew, it was like fried flour, looks like leftovers from last week. All the dishes were luke warm. The crackers were tasted old, not even crunching when you bite it. This is the first and last time for my family. I will not recommended Sequoia 88 to anyone.
Would of been zero stars but it wouldn't let me. We have been around 5 times in 5 years and are always sick the next day. Food was the same they have served for years.
Avarage to below average.
"DON'T EAT THE SEAFOOD"
Wait staff were friendly, is about the only positive
Sorry to say but $32.00 is not worth your food, to be realistic you should make it $22.00 only, most food are not fresh, and reheated taste.. Don't get me wrong but that is for you own benefit, do not mark up so much for the benefit of money,. Your service is good but just the price is not worth he money.
I enjoyed the variety of menus which is a whole lot different from last year. A staff said they had a new cook and i loved the way staff are welcoming and engaging its customers, even suggesting a dish you may like, which i did. Told a few friends of my experience and hoping to be back for Fathers Day.
Lovely food. Good value for money. It was my first visit.
Lots of space to sit.
Good variety. something for everyone.
Warm and friendly staff with a smile at all times.
Only the fried rice did not feel fresh. It had become hard and dry.
Probably due to sitting for a while under the light .
Will visit again. Cheers..Keep up the good work.
Had the pleasure of eating here for breakfast and lunch this week. I like the newly decorated dining area, especially the new round tables which are great for groups. Food was great - lots of new interesting dishes to try, but still had some of my favourites too. Great selection of food for breakfast, from the hot traditional breakfast to fruits and yoghurt - something for all tastes. Staff are the friendliest I have come across on my travels (and I travel a bit!) - nothing was too much trouble, always smiling (even on a frosty Canterbury morning!). Highly recommended.
