Sitting in Vancouver, BC looking at various photos on the internet I did wonder if there was something I was missing as Riverbank Cottages seemed too perfect. Well, now that we are here we can report it is perfect, absolutely perfect. The mature gardens create a sense of privacy which is very attractive. We have used the BBQ and eaten all our meals at home -- mostly because we want to sample as much NZ wine as we can and don't want to argue about who's going to drive. The galley kitchen is stocked with all we need and as a bonus our host gave us three kinds of breakfast cereal, bread, butter, jam, coffee, tea and milk. How kind and thoughtful we agreed. The pool is surrounded by greenery and has comfy recliners to sit and read in the sunshine. At the back end of the garden is the gate to cycle path that lead all over the valley to all the places you want to visit. Perfect. As we are here for a longer stay (we're still here as I write this) I appreciate the washing, drying and ironing facilities. That makes travel so much easy when the clothes are clean. I agree with all the other comments posted here. Riverbank Cottages are a lovely secret and a perfect, quiet get-away.
