The tour was great but disapointed with the managment. We booked for 4 people both millford and doubtful sound and me and my mom got sea sickness when doing the millford sound (1h.40min). Decided to cancelled the doubtful sound (7h) trip the next day rather get worst sea sickness but since they have 1x24h policy the couldnt refund our money and offered us to transfer the credit to other activities but all involved options they offered are involved cruise which we dont want to get more sea sickness. When i asked if i can transfered it to other activities on their web offered that is not involved cruise such us kayak or else they said they cant. I feel that they pushed us to do the journey eventho we trully cant take the sea or cruise. Even the crew on the millford cruise knew that my mum was sitting on the staircase because she couldnt handled the motion (sea sickness). Its not a cheap one 4x$240 gone just like that with no problem solving or alternative from the company that we could take. So disappointed.

We went on two journeys, the Earnslaw steamboat with dinner at Walker farm and the Doubtful Sound overnight cruise and both were amazing! I always felt like I was getting more than I expected.
The steamboat and dinner was an easy show up and experience some of Queenstown history and the Walter farm was amazing too.
The cruise was eye opening; there was a naturalist on board and she really made the wonderful scenery take on new depth. Also I'm impressed with all the logistics real journeys has put together to make the journey effortless.response / report this review -

We travelled with Real Journeys to Milford Sound and the bus and driver were fantastic! The bus driver did a tour of the road to Milford Sound making it a more interesting drive. We stopped at Te Anau, then at Mirror Lakes and finally at a freshwater running stream near the snow-capped mountains. We went on a cruise when we got to Milford Sound. Thanks Real Journeys!

Travelled to Walter Peak on the TSS Earnslaw. Great atmosphere on the ship however I didn't like the fact that they tried to sell us back a photo of ourselves, after just paying $160 for 2x tickets. Overall it was a good experience, do recommend.

There's a male Chinese mandarin speaking staff which is very rude. He uses bad attitude to customers especially Chinese customers which is a shame. Merely speaking another language doesn't help deliver a better service.

I guess it's a must trip if you are in Queenstown, you must go by the lake and have nice surroundings a day views. You have to bring cold weather clothes. It's really cold outside and the wind gets fast and more with the boat speed.

My overall impression of Real Journeys was of a highly polished, very professional operation where they do their absolute best to ensure everyone has a good time and sees some of New Zealand's amazing nature.
I went on the overnight cruise to Doubtful Sound and it was definitely a highlight of my time in NZ. Our guide on the ship was fantastic; she was clearly extremely passionate about the flora and fauna of the region and her talks throughout the trip added a lot of value. All of the staff were friendly and helpful and made us feel welcome.
I stayed in quad share and found it pretty comfortable. The food was pretty nice as well, and nothing beats that scenery with your morning coffee. It really was great.response / report this review -

It was a very nice tour on a jet boat. The mountains surrounding the river are very special. The walk in the forest was quite cute, but too short.

Brilliant (but long) trip to Doubtful Sound from Queenstown. Bus driver Mike was amazing. Every stage of the journey ran smoothly. Would highly recommend Real Journeys!

Real journeys is known as one of the best tour company in Queenstown. The driver, buses and rides are awesome. Office staff is good but cant manage crowd efficiently. Too much of papers and brochures around the office with focus only on Sales; and no sense of saving environment. Buses are not eco friendly and one can see lots of black smoke from these diesel buses on the road.
