Very good value for money. A little bit busy but all in all nothing to complain.

Free breakfast, free soup with great choices of bred, good dorms with lights on the bed, lockers, space. Outside area fantastic with pool, sauna, whirlpool, table tennis, volleyball, billiard etc. In summer must be awesome. Bathrooms were average clean and the guys used the girls one as well. For this price just fantastic.

Best f**king hostel in the whole New Zealand. If you go to Nelson, you don't have to think twice. I spend two months there. For only $140 you get free breakfast, a soup at night, jacuzzi, sauna, a lovely swimming pool, a volleyball court. It's 15 minutes walk away from the CBD. Paradiso is family.

Really good hostel with a good atmosphere, really friendly, unlimited wifi. Free breakfast, free soup and bread at dinner. But the bed are not really comfortable :/

If you get to stay at one place in Nelson as a backpacker, this is the right choice. Free wifi, breakfast and supper. Plus there's a pool and hot tub so there's always something happening here for fun!

If you want to experience how NOT to make people comfortable, go here. Absolute disgrace to hostels and backpackers in New Zealand. Facilities not clean, managers rude and unprofessional. Checked out after one night, entered the premises to wake my friend who unfortunately payed for two nights straight away and they made me pay $20 for waiting on the grounds. Never while traveling NZ have I experienced such childish behaviour from hostel staff.

It was loud, my roommates were inconsiderate, and it smelled horrible. Breakfast was 30 minutes late. It felt like a frat house and the people there acted like it as well. I woke up every 45 minutes because of something. At midnight I had 2 people walk in turn on the lights and have a jolly conversation even knowing I was trying to sleep 5 feet away. I have no clue how this has 4 stars.

I had the best sleep of my trip here. The bed was large and comfortable, the shower was good, the internet was excellent and free.
The Paradiso is about a ten minute walk to town, though there is a great organic store and coffee shop a couple minutes away.
The laundry machines were in good working order, and there were clothes lines. When we came in the evening the hot tub was scummy but our tour leader used it in the morning and didn't have a problem.
The front desk people are pleasant and quick to address any issues.

A great hostel with lots to offer for a really good price! The kitchen is big and good equipped, the outside area is amazing, with a pool, small spa pool and sauna and space to play volleyball and other outside games. I can just highly recommend it!

What you see on the pics and read on their website Is what you get. This backpacker has exceeded my expectations. Would say the best backpacker i have been to in NZ. Would highly recommend. Very clean surroundings and friendly staff. No wonder it was jampacked the minute i arrived as heaps of tourists returned to this place. Curfew times were always on the dot so you can sleep well and relax. Definitely will be returning to this paradise!
