Nice place. Clean, well run, friendly. We'll equipped kitchen. Comfortable TV room & dining room. Convenient walking distance to downtown. Free bikes. Would definitely stay again.

Amazing place. All of the rooms are different animals. Such A lovely lady who runs It, she was able to accommodate us at very short notice as our original choice had closed down.

I stayed there for three weeks, to help in the general maintenance for a free accommodation. It is a very cool and chill place. The Host's are very nice and the rooms are comfortable and cosy.

The hosts are very friendly and helpful. Each of rooms has different of animal style in it. Good location to go to everywhere and beautiful sunset from the balcony.

My friend and i checked in for one night. We were greeted by a lovely owner who was very informative. We were in the 'dog' room which is on the bottom floor amongst all the common areas. Immediately we went to our room and it was FREEZING! Considering it was 1600 on a stunning day it was so cold! It had a single heater that ran on a timer for about 2 mins. The pillows were musty. Also the walls are paper thin so any noises aeound the hostel felt like an elephant herd. Overall the place is clean but the noise and coldness definitely over shone the cleanliness.

Stayed here with my girlfriend for a night in a double room which had same charme through its Zebra theme. There have been two bath rooms more or less beside it, where the shower in one didn't become warm and the shower head holder at the other bath was broken.
Our bed was a bit aged, but we slept well in it. The view from the room was just into a courtyard onto another building which been a bit boring.
The living and dinning room was well kept and there has been a separate room with some couches to hang out. Kitchen well equipped and spacious enough.
The owner who also received us at the entrance was friendly and welcoming. Even though the hostel wasn't the most modern one we felt good to stay here.
Paid 74NZD for a double room non ensuite. A bit pricey, but still the cheapest you could get with BBH discount in town.response / report this review -

Five minute walk from town centre and shops. Nice staff and large rooms. Not many power points but other facilities are good. Nice living room and kitchen.

A beautiful house, very welcoming and friendly. Free bikes, hot tub and big kitchen. Enjoy the sun in the back garden!
