I had take away from that place and the service on the phone and at the reception was great. That's the reason why I give two stars ! I would have given only one if it wasn't for the smiling young hostess.
I had the entree beef soup (E15 on the menu): it was ok tasting but not great really. But the worst was the bibimbap ! A big classic in Korean food and culture, so I thought it couldn't go wrong. I never went to this place before, someone only recommended it, so I didn't want to take too much risk for a first time. Well, that was an epic fail ! Opening the box, the amount of meat was ridiculous, and there was spinach Ok I know bibimbap can be made with pretty much anything, but spinach !! Not everyone likes spinach, it should at least be mentionned on the menu so I could have had the option to ask for no spinach and more carots or any other vegs !
So I removed the spinach, added the sauce that was provided, and mixed it all, like my best friend who spent years in South Korea showed me many times I tried it, and it tasted horrible. I don't know what was wrong with it but it tasted like no other bibimbap I've had before (and I've had quite a few ones !). Even I made bibimbap a couple of times, and it tasted better.
I'm only judging for that one time experience, maybe other dishes are better. Maybe it was just bad luck and usually the bibimbap is ok. But today it wasn't. So 2 stars it is. And sorry but I will probably not go back to that place as there are many other Korean restaurants around Christchurch.response / report this review -

We had to wait a long time to be asked our order and then when we went to pay I informed the gentleman that i had an Entertainbook Voucher and he deducted this, whilst not speaking to me then when I asked if we could divided the bill by 5 he said "NO', one eftpos payment". This was very inconvenient for our party of 5 and because of this I, nor any other people I was with, will go to the restaurant again.

Located centre of CHCH. Food is tasty and kind staffs but it is more likly food court style restaurant.

The service was very nice with a polite wait staff. The food was very good with minimal waiting time. Mynonly concern is that it is a bit on the pricier side but not by much. Most mains are between $15-20. The hot stone bibimbap was great. Would definitely go again.

It was really surprisingly good. They have soups and varieties of Asian cuisine. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the mood for some Asian food
