Did the grade 5 rafting. Awesome experience, amazing views! Would recommend to anyone
Excellent day, staff were excellent, rapids were excellent, just all round excellent. Absolute bargain for a solid 7 hour day (including bus transport from base camp to the Mohaka).
Went on the grade 3 rapids, got a little soaked, but the supplied wet suits and splash-jackets kept us very warm and comfortable. Tea, coffee, and biscuits provided at the end of the day, along with a complimentary USB stick with all high-quality photos taken throughout the day.
Would absolutely go again!
Excellent value awesome professional crew
Badass, had so much fun doing this trip with my Dad from Hawkes Bay and my wife from Alaska.
Scenery was something out of a western movie & lord of the rings. Rapids were challenging but not to much for Dad. Guide was fun.
Cliff jumping, swimming and good family time made this one of the highlights of our 2 months in Hawkes Bay.
Do it. Fun. Would love to try there class 4-5 rapids next time. The scenery that way looked pretty spectacular. After this trip are now ready to step it up a bit.
Family of 8 on a Grade 5. Most excellent day and we will be coming back because under different water levels it will be like going down a whole new river.
A really good experience. We did a half day 'cruise ship' tour, which picked us up right from the center of the town, nice and early. The staff were really friendly and easy to get along with. We were really impressed by the safety and professionalism of the staff - there was another company using the river before us that only donned life vests - would not have been that trusting of that company. All clothing was provided for us to be safe and warm, and a nice lunch was provided after the river run. The river itself was spectacular, with amazing scenery and lots of photo opportunities. We took our own camera along, which was worth it, because there were only a handful of photos taken by the staff. We were a little disappointed by the lack of intensity on the river - it was very tame - I guess we had expected to at least go over a few little waterfall bits or something. It was all fine, but rather than call it 'rafting', it'd probably be more suited to being called a 'scenic raft ride'. On that note, we were on the water for several hours, saw lots of great scenery, and were given the opportunity to swim around in the water as well. The whole experience was good, but would probably opt for a higher grade rafting trip if I were to do it again.
We had an amazing day! Safety was of course a priority and these guys obviously knew what they were doing, explaining things clearly and always watching out for us, constantly guiding and giving us tips about balance, oarmanship and how to work collectively to get the raft to work for us. Splendid surprise with the afternoon tea upon arrival down the river. I've rafted at some top spots in the US and this company lives up to the first class operation I had heard they were.
