Kane is great with blond hair. He managed to get mine in the cooler (ash)tones without the need for a toner. Saving my hair from having more chemicals than necessary, and saving me money!
He's a great guy to chat with and has varied interests so I'm sure you'll find something to chat about, or relax in peace as he puts you at ease with his calm manner and caring self.
Hester is a devoted teacher and mentor to her staff, encouraging them to grow more to reach new heights.

Well it is rare to have a hair dresser get ur hair spot on but Kane really gave me the color and cut I was looking for. Very comfy and friendly salon would definitely recommend it.

I can not fault ministry if hair whatsoever. Every time I come here I leave happy and satisfied. The atmosphere is welcoming and inviting. You're really taken care of in the salon with tea and coffee flowing, complimentary pretzels and so many magazines to choose from!! Today I worked with Kane because I needed a change in hair colour and the amount of care and effort he put into my hair was amazing. I have left happy and in love with my new colour and cut. Thanks Kane and Hester! until next time 😊

My first time at MoHair was also Christopher's first day and I was his first client. He has come to know my hair and all the quirks that straight hair brings. Pleasant surrounds and service.

A few months ago I reached out to Ministry of Hair for help following a pretty bad experience with my previous salon. I met Jen and she instantly made me feel safe in a trusting and professional environment. As a result of hair breakage from chemical straightening at my last salon, I had resigned to the idea that I would need to cut my hair short :-(. But after in-depth consultation to determine my ultimate results, Jen and I agreed that restoring my hair back to optimum health was important first and foremost, plus with clever maintenance, I could keep my hair length through the restoration. I’m now nearly 2 months into a great treatment schedule using ‘La Biosthetique’ product range with amazing results after such a short period of time. I’m also learning to understand, and make the most of the curly hair type I was born with, opposed to using damaging processes to drastically change it. I strongly recommend Ministry of Hair, especially for anyone who is seeking a salon that’s serious about listening, and providing comprehensive consultations. If you want the right guidance to reach maximum hair health and growth, as well as feeling and looking fabulous, then Ministry of Hair is for you!

Great curly hairdressers! Did a consult with Rachel and decided on a game plan for my wild, dry, curly hair. She cut it fantastically, and left it curly rather than straightening it to cut it. She gave me a lot of cost cutting tips for keeping my hair hydrated on a student's budget as well.
Overall great hairdressers who work with your budget and the needs of your hair.response / report this review -

Was a good experience overall, friendly people. Was given magazines and offered a snack and drink (water/coffee/tea) when I arrived early. Greeted me as soon as I entered. Was pretty happy with my haircut. The only thing that took me a bit by surprise was the price on a men's haircut; I paid $65. Not sure why others posting reviews say the prices are low for a men's haircut. I consider what I paid to be the opposite. But compared to reviews on some other places around Auckland, it could be worthwhile to pay more for a haircut you will actually like. They did listen and follow closely what I wanted. Hester has done an amazing job on getting my extremely curly hair to be clam and look awesome. It is great to have someone cut my hair who is so passionate and treats you like you are the most important person in the world. She cuts to give you the look you want and I no longer look like Crunchy the clown after a hair cut and get some many lovely comments on my hair. thank you Hester you and the Ministry of hair team are the best.

I went to Song and she was absolutely incredible! Her passion and knowledge for hair were clear right from the start (she admitted to me that she attended every single class of hairdressing school and then took all the optional extra units as well!). I love what she did with my hair and also her straightforward, honest advice and upfront pricing. Thanks Song!

I cannot recommend Rachel at Ministry of Hair highly enough! Rachel is an absolute bubbly delight and her attention to detail is fantastic. I am a regular and am absolutely thrilled with my hair - both cut and colour - Rachel really looks and listens and comes up with the goods every time. The whole team at MoH are a joy to watch - there is a real sense of connection with their clientele and I notice they are able to use each others expertise brilliantly. I can totally see why clients like me keep returning. Thank you Rachel!
