Had dinner there as a group Saturday night and while the food was good the place seemed pretty disorganized. Our entrees didn't arrive at all, then a waiter lost the plot and smashed up a bunch of glasses in the middle of the dining room.

I am absolutely appalled with the service at this bar. My colleagues and I went for a few drinks on a Friday night and upon leaving, what seemed to be a manager, didn't take a liking to one of our group. He proceeded to shout profanity and ban us from returning.
Well I can assure you I will not be returning to malt, and that is of my own choice thank you very much.

Unfortunately the food and service was average and the specials were only a list of what was unavailable. We really looked forward to seeing the renovations and enjoying a nice Sunday lunch but was very disappointed. We nicely mentioned to the staff that some of the food was unenjoyable and they didn't seam to care. This is the first time i'v ever taken the time to review a bar/restaurant.

Worst customer service I have ever had - before we had even ordered! Honestly - I travel for work and am often in restaurants and I have never written a review but the lady wasn't interested in even serving us - let alone offering us a menu I was gob-smacked sooo rude and when we asked "could we please get a couple of glasses of water?" She snapped saying - we don't give it out routinely but ok" what an attitude sorry - didn't get your name but the very skinny blond lady - the one with all the pearcings in the left ear - you need to find another job serving customers is not your calling and you ruined the experience! Because the other staff were lovely!

The renovation looks lovely. But I'd much rather have the old malt back with awesome food and good service. 3rd time I have come now In the last 2 months in the hopes I would recieve better service but it seems the staff would rather be anywhere else but here. No one smiles, greets you or treats you with common decency. Not one to complain about anything but honestly felt the need. Such a shame

The renovation is really lovely but unfortunately the food and the service has not improved
The old menu and quality of the food before the Reno was pretty sub standard - the new menu after the Reno was sparse and very expensive - $32 for a steak with nothing else on the plate
The menu has now been revamped again but the quality of the food is very poor still
We had a venison burger that was on a stale bun and missing completely the chargrilled capsicums and was small in size
Meatballs were dry and Greek salad not a Greek salad at all
The staff while sometimes trying are pretty cold and refused to replace my macs gold when they had it on tap stating it wasn't flat
And 'is supposed to taste like that'
It was totally flat
We've never had flash service but now the food is not even improving - such a shame to not use your own local pub but unfortunately the area consensus is - go somewhere else

Good atmosphere, freshly redecorated and a reasonable menu.
One comment I would makewe ordered a sharing plate (two of us), cost was around $29.00 and we struggled to see the value. The other thing was, a sharing plate is normally for two people and it arrived with 3 pieces of bread and 3 wafers. Most odd! They did offer to supply more which we did and no additional charge.
