Squid rings was Ok. I had a main meal of Fish rock boat which was actually a boat half with leaves to eat. Fish was good. Straight cut chips was not crispy as the other shops give.

I cannot remember a time when I had such a horrible meal. The overpriced burger left a bad taste in my mouth for many hours after. I don't rate McDonalds burgers, but even they are many times better than what Lone Star served up. My partner had a vegetarian burrito that left her similarly unimpressed and feeling ill.

My one star rating reflects that I certainly won't be going back to this restaurant, even if someone paid me for it.

Short wait to be seated, handy bar while waiting. Love the lamb shanks. Good mood & vibe for group catch ups.

I had lamb thanks and they were average. Not cooked to a tenderness I would expect. Service was good and staff friendly and efficient

Very ordinary staff. Too young and clearly without adequate training or adult supervision. Food was good, but small amount on big plates and VERY expensive for what is really just ordinary steak house. Also a minor delay in food arriving despite not busy. Main dining area is just one not very big room. Poor effort at Western decor compared to other lone stars, especially the excellent palmerston north restaurant. .

    Not as great as before!!!!
I've been lone star customer for more than 5 years. Been to every Lone star in the country but I had a bad night at Lone Star Petone!!!!
    1. Bad cutomer service.
    2. Cocktail - (John lee) not nice the bartender forgot to put 1 recipe
    3. Squid (entré) so oily and the aioli had taste different from before
    4. The Ribs - the chef probably change recipe and the way to cook it. Not as delicious as before!!!
    5. Maverick fillet cooked different and the sauce changes. No blue cheese on top any more just got the chopped white mushroom stir in brown sauce with granted cheese. The presentation not as good as it was.
    6. Mash potato was so tasteless.

Giant Lone Star portions. The Ribs and the Lasso of Hog are epic, and the Steaks are damn fine too. Plenty of good cocktails as well.

I almost visited most of the Lone star branches. They all are really good and fantastic with mouth watering foods.. do not forget to explore US and NZ history and memorabilia around the restaurant.

Held a function here for 70 people. I was really happy with the service, staff, food and cost. As it was a day function, they opened especially for it so it was only us there - just perfect. They waited patiently for everyone to get settled and were super quick and taking orders and brining them out. Food was delicious - not one complaint from and of the other guests. Very impressive Lone Star!
