  Waited in line behind another couple who walked out after waiting ten minutes to be acknowledged by staff serving at the bar we then waited a further 10 minutes at the counter to be ignored as well so we also walked out . obviously this establishment does not want to service customers. our money was better spent at Mackenzie’s who have amazing service poor form lake tekapo tavern

  Our group waited for two and a half hours for our food, most of it never came as they ran out of the Burger buns and vegetables. When thry ran out of burger buns they started using toasted white bread instead. Service was terrible, the waiters were extremely rude to us behind our backs. A member of our group was told to "suck a lemon" by the waitress also. The locals were also given better quality food than us and the waitress also admitted this to our face. In one dish the potatoes were raw too. Seriously, do not come here.

  Friendly and helpful staff! Was passing through and needed a WiFi connection to send an important message. The bartender handed me a code slip without question, without purchase.

  Great place to have a break if you are on your way to Christchurch. Lovely little cafe, with great views of the mountains and lake!
