You can see the beautiful lake and have a amazing food here. It would be great if you can reserve a table before you come here. I would definitely come again if I go to Lake Tekapo in the future.

Excellent location, always packed with tourists. Stunning fresh seafood, especially salmon!!Complementary warm green tea is a plus enjoyment. Homemade ice cream make the happy ending of our lunch. Highly recommended and must visit when you visit Tekapo!!

Very busy. One of the best restaurants I tried in NZ. Salmon don was great; salmon was succulent and fresh. Service is obviously Japanese-inspired which is a good thing. The view out the window is wonderful. Con: extremely busy, and portions are Japanese-sized (to be expected, but small for stomachs of European genes).

Truly horrible experience Crowded and caters to tour groups almost exclusively. Manager, she was rude and didn't really care about food allergies.

Subaverage taste.

Going with tour group? No choice
Going alone? So many other great eats on this street.
Going with a group? Try Jade next door. Last nights meal was much better than today.

High quality food at a fair price, incredibly friendly staff, and a fantastic view of Lake Tekapo. Highly recommend anything with the local Salmon sashimi. You can't ask for much more.

Waitress was unable to comment on drink prior to ordering. Rice was recomended for a fish that did not suit rice. Teriyaki chicken was flavorless. Had to wait 5 minutes to pay. View was good

Was sceptical about the possibility of an authentic Japanese meal in a place like this but was pleasantly surprised. Recommend the JFC and tempura.

Book in advance or else wait in queue. Sometimes they allow you to have a quick meal before Reservation party arrives. But they take most of the time to take your order and then prepare and leave you with less time to enjoy the food.

Quality of food is good at affordable rates. Good views if you manage to get table near Windows. Different kind of food when compared to Mackenzie (which is also good) but quality is pretty good. Be patient as it gets busy all the time. If you don't have time, just skip this one.

Great locally farmed salmon. Fresh and well prepared. Amazing views of the lake too. This is probably the restaurant that gets closest to the lake. This place is authentically Japanese and lots of people in the staff and customers are Japanese. This is a gem and it gets crowded so make a reservation or be prepared to wait.

Fantastic salmon and Japanese dishes. Singaporeans eat a lot of Japanese food and this is way better for the price you're paying. Try the Kohan bento to get a taste of everything good, especially the various salmon options. True Japanese restaurants serve complimentary hot green tea and this is no exception. Must go!
