Great atmosphere
Customer friendly and lovely staff
Great lodge, great pub. The owner is amazing and quite the rock star!
This hostel is ok but no better. Beds and bathrooms are fine, although the duvets are not that warm and quite thin. The kitchen is very small and gets too busy very easily. There is no lounge area which is really annoying and Wi-Fi is expensive, although very strong connection if you do pay. I came in winter and it was very poorly staffed at reception and there bar wasn't even open for the lions test match
The national park is stunning but a bit far away to walk too and buses are once a day so not very flexible. I recommend taking a water taxi into the park if you can. Well worth the money. All in all could be a lot better on many counts. Adequate at best
Nice lodge
A good lodge with decent and clean facilities as well as friendly staff. It can get a bit crazy checking in if the Kiwi Experience bunch show us as well but they're pretty good at getting everyone in.
Great place, staff nice and helpfull you can sleep in a dorm for a cheaper price or in a private room. In summer kitchen may be small for the high season. The Beach Whale restaurant is really great, Nice and tastefull meal. I recommand this place!
Room clean, nice to have ensuite. 4 bed dorm VERY small, hardly room for bags. No sound insulation, can hear people moving around upstairs. Staff rude and unhelpful. Kitchen locked until after 7.30am, so not ideal for early starts. Plastic plates in the kitchen ( disgusting) $5 dollar deposit for cutlery.
I did not like the platic plates, forch etc in the kitchen. The equipment and size of kitchen was overall unsufficent for the amount of people sleeping there. The location is great to get into the Abel Tasman National Park. Paid wifi is available.
