Clean and comfortable no fridge staff friendly .
Frontier Bar and Cafe food at reasonable prices but can become noisy and crowded as bar and cafe combined
Smoke filled the room from the fire and all the windows had to be opened
Least publicised option would be to join bus groups for a smorgasbord in the Main restaurant where breakfast is served

An unusual hotel in the middle of nowhere - a bit creepy - probably busier during the snow/ski season. Didn't have a fridge to put our stuff in. Buffet breakfast was great!

Affordable rooms, clean and warm, great customer service from all staff.
The food was amazing, definatly highly recommended. We will be back next holiday ☺

I have stayed at the hotel many times; regrettably, this was not a good experience this time; staff member behind the restaurant bar counter was not pleasant, and the food was very average. Will try again and hope it improves.

Tidy and warm rooms, very accommodating staff. The bar provides excellent meals and alcohol. Cooked breakfast can be provided in the morning and it was also excellent.
If you're looking for a peaceful escape a way from the hustle and bustle it is definitely worth a look.

So much for the "kiwi hospitality" they claim in the sign at their café!! The lady in the bar couldn't be more rude. We were a large foreign group and naturally it took a while for us to order our coffee, and she kept a nasty face the entire time, I even apologised for taking long to order and she just stayed quiet. Hot chocolate was cold and coffee was bad. As soon as a local approached her, she was all smiles. Apparently the good treatment is reserved for the kiwis only.

Spent 3 weeks in NZ and this was the worst and most expensive place we stayed. The room was very small and did not have a refrigerator which we needed to keep my wife's medicine cool. The staff didn't seem very interested and the place was very noisy with other people going up and down the corridor. We could not park our car near our room, glad it wasn't raining when we were taking our luggage to and fro otherwise we would have got soaked as there was no undercover walkway to the "car park". The bathroom was very small but the shower worked fine which is the only positive I can find. On top of all this they put on a surcharge for paying by credit card. I don't know who they are trying to cater for but it is certainly not tourists. I have just noticed I cannot post without giving at least one star so please ignore that rating.
