So the last pic I posted says all empty plates. The menu was in the form of a newspaper which was amazing. Right from appetisers to mains and drinks it was great experience. The environment was great and so as views. Worth dining here while visiting Tauranga. Thumbs up to food, drink and experience 👍🏻. A must recommended place to have a wonderful evening!

Food was great! It was made perfectly though it was served a bit late. I love the steamed mussels, good flavour really tasty but a bit salty. The chowder was good but small serving in a big bowl plate. Resotto beetroot and salmon with seaweeds were amazing! However, the manager/owner was not happy when we asked her to move to another table to get a nice view. Other than that, the experience was awesome!

Excellent location, it's great fun to look across the water whether at night or day. Provides a pleasant atmosphere.
The staff are also very helpful and provide good service. Nothing short of five stars.
However, for the price, while the food was undoubtedly good I would hope that it would pass the line into excellence.
I highly recommend the truffled mushrooms - easily the best part of the meal.response / report this review -

I don't think you could over cook chicken any more than than the chicken I was served here. And my breads for a starter were hard and tasted stale. Was a bad experience and would not return

Drove from Auckland to Tauranga, look up best restaurant, and harbourside showed up decided to give it a try , and our experience are better than excellent!! Wait staff friendly, food is very good we had the venison and sirloin from the grill and make sure you try the beer batter chips!! only down side is that me and my wife missed the sun set(our own fault). Will come back again or recommend to anyone wanted a good night out.

I am a bit reluctant to write this review for the simple reason that i don't want everyone to know about the place. Tucked away WAYYY down the strand away from the maddening chaos of the myriad of other restaurants this is by far the best in Tauranga for food, service and atmosphere. Very highly recommended.

I have signed up to google "local guides" specifically to write this review. I was very disappointed with the food on our visit. We went for a family birthday meal and, for a supposed upper market restaurant, the food was just "okay". My daughter's pub style kids menu had a limp sludgy salad on the side. We ordered the eye fillet and tuna steak which was only accompanied by a small potato dauphinoise that tasted like fish. The meat was tender but the tune cool inside and not warm though. It was nouvelle cuisine that didn't cut it. We mentioned all of this the waitress who was pleasant and engaging and she offered my daughter a free ice cream to compensate. Over priced for what it is. We won't be back.

Excellent friendly service. Great menu. Loved the crispy duck and pancakes, and the seared tuna was divine. The waiter was fun, enjoyed his banter, and my mother in law loved the back rub! We'll be back
