My experience at Hanmer Springs Top 10 holiday resort. Cabin was very neat, clean, spacious and comfortable. I will give this resort with clean Kitchen and bathroom facilities 5 stars.
8mins walk to the pool and supermarket. Reception is so nice. Kitchen and toilet are clean. Has children play area. Tent sites w/o power is 40NZD.
I would only give this site 2 out of 5 stars . A big let down in comparison to the other Top Ten sites we have stayed at.
There wasn't a level pitch for our campervan in the whole site.
The toilet and shower blocks were very dated. One of the two dump sites was "out of order" . The staff were very helpful.
At >$40 per night I was expecting a LOT more from the facilities, there is NO HOT WATER OR SOAP IN THE TOILETS, even after asking twice during my stay they can't refill the soap dispenser, a small ask I thought.
The sites are too small for even a small caravan with awning plus your vehicle to park.
It would also be nice if they mowed the lawns to reduce how wet your feet get on the journey to the bathroom.
However in my two days here I am yet to witness any maintenance or grounds-keeping whatsoever.
I will not be returning.
One of the best places I've stayed in, get the studio unit that has an ensuite and a kitchenette, it's clean, compact and a cosy living space that I'd love to come again anytime and would definitely recommend to others! :)
Beautiful surrounding with huge spaces designated for different type of campers. Well serviced and very helpful employees
Good selection of pools. Very busy. Too many people for me.
Close to town, clean facilities and comfortable cabins. Warm in winter. Great showers. Would stay again for sure.
Items that were left behind in the kitchen from departing campers (the idea is to benefit other staying campers if they needed a little bit of salt or cooking oil) were mostly taken by the staff for their personal used at home, as I watched them took the box full of items and loaded into their own car parked outside of the camp ground.
Dumping point is located next to toilet building wall. To dump waste, you either have to drive ridiculously close to the wall or you need a decently long pipe, not to mention if you stopped your vehicle there for dumping, you also blocked the whole road.
The kitchen only has fix installed appliances, ZERO cooking utensils can be found in there, not even paper towel or cloth to clean up the mess (there are 2 baking trays inside the oven and 3 brushes for cleaning).
Called into camp after bike ride for a shower. Paid $5.00 which went to charity. Reception very helpful.
Really good site. Great for Families. Units nice and clean
OK - not as good as some other Top 10s
We stayed in one of the new 2 bedroom apartments - and these are not cheap. Upon checking in there was a very unpleasant odour - had to request air freshener from reception. Other than that, the furnishing are nice and the bed comfy with every you need to cook a full meal too. Daughter enjoyed the trampoline right outside. Overall pretty good - but not the best value for money - even when booking long in advance.
Good place to stay if a bit outdated here and there. The staff could be a bit more helpful. And the laundry is quite on the expensive side, $4 per load + $4 for the dryer. The showers are free which is great.
It can be a bit noisy because it is kid friendly. If they put you in cabin 37, be aware that you can hear a generator going a few times at night. Luckily it stops after a few minutes, but it is still quite annoying if you want peace and quiet. It is conveniently located though, close to kitchen and toilet/shower blocks. And it is just a short (5/7min) walk to the city centre.
