Heaps of fun and educational. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the local area and the goldrush era. The self guided tour of the miners village was great. Panning for gold was fun but as it was the middle of winter we could only do it for about 7.5 seconds before our fingers froze and dropped off into the water

Was good but didn't find any gold maybe the pay dirt had already been run through a sluice before the paying public get a chance

Nice place for a short stop. Great to see some gold mining history so well displayed and cared for and some even still working! Worth a visit and well worth the $25

A nice place for a stop. Plan to be there for about 2 hours. There is a self guided 1h walk and a really good tour with instructions for doing some gold panning. I didn't find any gold but it was fun.

Awesome place to visit. Great bridge walk to get to it. Nice people, food and wine (if you're so inclined). Good parking too. Their wine tasting is awesome and they do this really nice food thing cooked in an oak barrelyum Little known also, is that this is an office for Wild Earth Wines.

This is the best kept secret in Central Otago. It doesn't pop up on most of the tourist apps - at least not the ones I've downloaded anyway. Something for everyone. For mum, a lovely jewellery and gift range and cool cafe/cellar door; for dad, a chance to pan for gold or ride the jet boats; for the kids a great walk through gold settlements and associated paraphernalia. At only $25 ea it was a very inexpensive 3 hours.
