I love the food because it's consistently good. Depending on the day, it can take longer than usual to have your meal served. A little suggestion for employees there: I know that your Cafe/Restaurant is part of a religious organization but don't be too persistent when you're persuading customers to take part in your events otherwise you may scare some of them off :)

See through the 1 star reviews which are possibly a culture clash and have been addressed and focus on the service and food, both of which are delightful.

The food is very good. The coffee lets it down. Both of us agreed on this. Our opinion was the coffee bean - could have been a darker richer roasted Bean.
The temple itself is sensational. The staff are friendly. The exhibition/gallery was well worth the stop.

I'd give less than one star if I could due to their archaic views on breastfeeding in public, a view which seems completely incompatible with a cafe that otherwise moved progressively with its vegetarian menu. Most people are normal and find breastfeeding a natural normal event, so why this cafe is succumbing to the whinging out of date complaints by 1% of its customers is deplorable. These people need to get with the times or stay at home where they don't inflict their perverse views on others.

This is the best cafe / restaurant in Christchurch. The food is great, staff are friendly, great service and food is fantastic. No matter you are a vegetarian or not, it is worth a try. The tranquil environment which is amazing as the building is just beside the road makes enjoying a cup of tea so relaxing I love the laksa, dumplings and tea there

What a little treasure this place is. The extensive range of vegan food is incredible. The tranquility of the surroundings and fabulous service is wonderful. I go to Waterdrop Cafe often 3 times a week and every time is as awesome as the time before whether it is for a meal or a snack or a cup of their lovely berry tea 😊

Peaceful surroundings and tasty food. Fondly called the Buddhist temple. Architecture is amazing and inside an area with jewellery and other items for sale. Often an exhibition on as well. Beauty on the outside and within. Parking at side and 60 mins on street. Do not take credit card. Much busier now it has re opened.

Having Vegetarian meal in a good sense, environment and friendly staff. Always recommend friend to come to have a good pure and simple vege meal. My favourite dish will be Laksa, a noodle with a spicy flavour.
