Quick bite of carrot cake and vegetable soup. Both are OK.

Free water. Delicious pizza. Things a bit expensive but hey, you're in one of the most isolated attraction in NZ.

Bright modern complex bustling with tourists, very pricey but a good range of food and beverages. Plenty of seating but can be very busy and space can be limited. We went on a beautiful fine day which is rare in Milford and I would assume on a bad day the place would swell with folk trying to keep dry as they wait for boats or transport.

This place looks like an unbiased tourist information, but my impression is that it wasn't.

When I asked about tours, I was only shown one company's tours. Only when my partner asked for cheaper options did they mention other companies.

The cruise we bought, with GoOrange, came with lunch, but the ticket seller didn't mention this, so we ended up buying lunch at the café in this information centre.

The lunch, a peppered steak pie was pretty good.

    Expensive WiFi (100MB for $10).

The hot chocolate was expensive and tasted like Yogo chocolate mousse, very disappointing especially at 8am when you need a nice hot drink. Staff dismissive and unfriendly.

Went on the Milford Sound discovery cruise and loved it. Takes about 2 hours in all and you get to venture out where the sound meets the Tasman Sea. You get to see 2 permanent waterfalls as well as a number of temporary waterfalls. Our guide was very knowledgeable and insightful. Would highly recommend it, just make sure you wear strong insect repellent, as we did and, waterproof clothing. You do get a complimentary glass of ice cold water too!

rolled up to intense rain and wanted to know whether it was worth doing a cruise, which we already had tickets for. Didn't want to spend 3hours getting sodden and cold if there was nothing to see. The person behind the info desk's response to my query was, "it's a rain forest, what do you expect?" What I expect is some useful information, not a bunch of attitude. Does anyone have a job for that guy because he sucks at the one he had
