Great casual dining. Superb coffee. Be prepared for a limited menu but the bacon butties are amazing

Had a visitor from Denmark. We sat outside. Menu looked great couldn’t decide so Ange our waitress chose a selection. Every plate was perfection.All the wait staff were exceptional. We did not once have to wait for a drink or even pour our own beer. Ange made our night thank you.

Me and my partner are from overseas and visited the place 3 times. In general the food is great. However we just couldn't believe how bad the service was during our last visit - no service at all, we waited 30 minutes for someone to come outside to take out desert order and decided not to order any more. They decided to move the stock in the middle of the day and the steel cage door hit my chair and my back, no apology was received. And when I got the bill, the waitress did not have any eye contact or conversation with me at all. Just shocking experience. Don't think we are returning.

We came here for our first meal in Auckland and we were definitely not disappointed!!Loving the vibes and friendly service here! Food was on point! Oysters were amazingly fresh that we had to order round 2! Would also recommend clam and squid ink linguine and skirt steak!
We came here on a Sunday night without booking! We felt lucky that we could manage to grab a table as the restaurant was really really busy. Would recommend booking or start your night earlier like we did!response / report this review -

Lovely friendly staff. Gorgeous warm interior on an otherwise rainy day. Great selection of gluten and lactose free and vegan options too. Great other cafes you can walk through to as well. Nice selections of cheese etc. Would definitely stop by again. Organic shop opposite as well which gave a good range of supplies if you're doing a road trip. Place would easily fit 30+ friends:)

One of my Fav places in Auckland. Always great service and the food has never ever let me down. Always expect something you probably wouldn't usually find on a menu.

Fresh sea food and tasty European continental dishes. They don't take reservation and will normally be busy after 6pm. So wait with patience or go early.

The place has a really cool decor, and even though they are busy, they will quickly find a table for you. We had fig toasties, which were a whirlwind of delicious flavors, beef brisket tortillas, soft and juicy, and grilled kumara, which I couldn't get enough of.
Additionally, the staff was nice enough to move us to a bigger table when it freed up, and the server noticed I left my umbrella behind.response / report this review -

I don't know why this place is so top ranking. Most of their food is using very cheap stuff to be made. Maybe the psychological effect of Al Brown is the boss of the restaurant, people are thinking everything must be good. Come on guys, don't be fooled, be realistic. I would like to say it is just a casual restaurant, forget about the fancy. It is lucky to have a great location and celabrity effect.
