Seems Botany branch has changed ownership, waiters and chefs. We used to go there very often, now noted change of food quality, waiter service/attitude. Seems like some Chinese have taken over.
Bad service. Nice food and good cook! First skinny Asian host was rude and had a attitude. The young Indian guy didn't know what cut the beef was scotch, sirloin, rump or eye fillit (no point getting the leanest Wagu). The guy who did the tapanaki was amazing and nice! Japanese guy who's worked there for 2 years who used to work at the shore branch - he was spot on! Every trick flawless. So the food and him gets three stars. As we leave the first host is still in A bad mood.
Yummy!! Great service! Chefs are on POINT! First time at this place and it was amazing. Walked in with an empty stomach walked out bloated but happy! ☺
We were there for a quick noodle lunch.came in with no one served. Every table was uncleaned from previous customer. Eventually we found ourself a mess table. Did ask one guy who seems look like extremely stressful to be told we have to wait 15mins for him to clean the table ! What are you kidding with me?
Come on we love the noodles but no one likes to be treated this way .
Disappointed
This place is completely short of staff if you love their food be ware of the time you go!
Because you may be treated same way!
Omy this is my new favorite spot! Had a yummy kai last night and honestly that mayo and kaarenga chicken is soooo delish! The young waiter's were also very good at tending to our services. 10/10
I recommend dining here for lunch, their set lunch menu is affordable and delish, must try the yum yum sauce! Service is always good for us but book ahead
You must make a booking as there are a limited number of cooks - this means don't always expect to just be able to come here for a meal. Food is good but portion size is not as big as it used to be. Service is alright.
My husband and I are first time diners at Daikoku. It was such an amazing evening. We were greeted by warm friendly staff. Our waitress was awesome, making sure we were well taken care of and our young chef was polite, entertaining and good fun. The food was sooo good, especially their yum yum sauce and it was great value for money. We will definately be taking our children next time.
Thank you to all the staff for making it such a wonderful evening for 2 busy parents who hardly ever take time out for ourselves. 😊😊😊
I don't normally like to write negative things on public forums but the terrible quality of service left such a bitter taste in my mouth that I feel this is justified.
Arrived at the Daikoku Botany branch last night for dinner with a group of friends looking forward to a good meal. When we asked if they had space for a table for 5, the manager in charge who was at the front counter was extremely arrogant, impolite and dismissive and refused to acknowledge us until the last member of our group who was running slightly late arrived. The restaurant was not particularly busy, either. Unfortunately based on the quality of this welcome, we did not stay long enough to try the food. Still unsure what we did to warrant such behavior. Disappointing. Went across the road to another establishment instead where the atmosphere, service and food were excellent.
I won't act so low as to name the manager publicly here, but they definitely were not qualified to be in the hospitality industry.
