If you're planning on starting the Alps to Ocean ride from Tekapo, stay the night in Twizel the night before and take the early morning shuttle to Tekapo with Wally. Thus is a MUST. The drive is stunning, the driver is a star. Thanks Wally for your fascinating insights, history and local knowledge which we loved hearing about.
