Very disappointed. Ordered a bowl of olives with breads and tomatoes. Olives had a long green chilli poking out were dreadfully hot, hard and too spicey. The 'breads' came as 4 door steps of toast with the inside of tomatoes splattered in the middle, hard cold and dry.

Great food. Friendly service without being overpowering or pompous. Nice location. Not cheap, but worth it. I recommend the apple dessert.

Beautiful resteraunt and setting. Attentive staff. Tapa and hubsters main meal ok. Dessert was delicious. My main was not to my taste was offered another main and given an apology. Easy parking for dinner. Used entertainment card and got 25% discount. #ongooglemaps #localguides

Great setting. Just perfect after a walk in the botanic garden. Menu expensive and therefore didn't eat there.

This is the fourth time I have dined at the Curators House since the Spanish management took over and I have never been disappointed. This is my favourite Christchurch restaurant. The food is always excellent, as it was on this occasion. My wife and I had a tapas entry of prawns and whitebait- both were sizzling hot and very tasty. I then had the venison and my wife had the fillet steak. Both were cooked to perfection and accompanied by a delicious selection of vegetables. We finished with the Catalonia crema which was beautifully flavoured and smooth with the crust just the right thickness. The whole meal was delicious. The ambience of the restaurant was great, with well chosen Spanish music in the background- not too loud, not too soft. The staff were all very professional - polite, helpful, friendly, but not obtrusive and we didn't feel under pressure to finish at any point.Overall, we had a highly enjoyable experience. I think this is a great restaurant and if things go right, I will certainly be going there again.

Was a great venue. Great dining room - just for the 8 of us. Service was very good. Only down side was the vegetarian main which my partner found to be very disappointing as it mainly consisted of a large pile of onions and a handful of mushrooms. Garnishing was minimal and the two olives and a cherry tomato were we suppose the Mediterranean Vegetables. We paid $34.00 odd for this !?
