New owners! Relax atmosphere. BEAUTIFUL food, specially the vegetarian options. Had mussels, fish salad, halloumi burger, aubergine lasagna, everything from another world!

We had a party of 40 at Cobar last night for our 25th wedding anniversary. The food was superb and the service impeccable. Thanks for making our celebration special.

Like Cobar for its dining and location. Moderate pricing, nice atmosphere, pleasant dining, a restaurant worth revisiting

After years of going to the Cobar for family dinners and lunches we went today for lunch. Something felt different at the time but i didn't pick it up until later on. The service was polite and reasonable but delivery time (on a not very busy floor) was slow The food order took an eon to arrive at the table and there wasn't anything that complicated going on the plate (3 were fish dishes.)
We decided on taking a dessert and unfortunately mine i returned due to it being very poor. Sad that what was once such a great restaurant seems to have changed hands and standards have dropped. Don't see myself returning in the near future

Awful service and way overpriced. The only thing good is the location but then parking is another issue..

Delicious food, friendly service, great view into the harbour but the great food is the outstanding factor for a great lunch.

First and last visit to this restaurant. We were initially given choice of two types of "fish of the day" with our menu - three of us chose terakihi but our waitress returned to advise we could only have the wharehou as chef won't release the terakihi until the wharehou is used up! When we said we really wanted the terakihi a more senior, unsmiling member of the waiting staff came out to tell us they definitely won't release the terakihi yet. She was absolutely uncharming about it and we felt like chastised children. Could've asked to see the menu again and reorder, but chose not to wish I had as wharehou is much meatier and strong tasting than I like. Our waitress was a sweet young lady, but the fish episode left us absolutely unimpressed.

Doesn't seem inviting, great location and balcony, good for beer, lunch or dinner in sun but. Its too swanky for what you get.
