Awesome decor and vibe, however wait staff not very friendly, tables hardly ever cleared, toilets dirty.

the staff are friendly but took a while to get served but the main sharing fondue was great and the burgers and lamb shank were good too

Nice ambience. Waitperson was a little abrupt and not very welcoming. Cocktail was ok but super loaded with ice. I would pop in perhaps for food as somebody the items looked nice.

I was quite excited about visiting this place (as I live just down the road and always looking for new spots to socialiseunfortunately it didn't hit the mark. Great job at changing the decor but very cold (upstairs) and no customer service at all. Barman clearly had a big night out last night and I commented (to make conversation) but pretty much received a grunt and our drinks. Real shame as with better customer service (or even just polite chat)and a bit more insulation upstairs, this could be really great spot. I hope I just got the staff on a 'bad' day, but never the less I'm afraid I won't be recommending my AirBnB guests come to eat/drink here.Going back next week for pre-arranged catch up with friends, so if my experience differs I will happily remove review.

Great place to be out of the rain. Upstairs is a good choice to really appreciate the decoration of the bar.

The ambiance is excellent but everything else was average. There was a lot of little things that bothered me such as service staff not knowing what the vegetarian option of the day was. After we ordered a cocktail we found they had run out of mint, which is fine but they weren't very apologetic or friendly about it. The food was average, the beef a little dry for our liking. It was an Ok dinner but there are better options in Christchurch

Great food, exceptional friendly service and an awesome atmosphere, also a full menu as opposed to snacks only between lunch and dinner. Definitely worth a visit!

Reasonable prices, staff were ok a bit picky when it came to who they served. there 'security staff' become heavy handed with weak excuses when they felt you should leave . i (the constant sober driver) was told i was cut off for being to drunk and to head over to BK for a feed. all with a smerk on his face. had plenty of good nights at Cargo but this tainted it.
