Dropped in a wheel to have 3 spokes replaced and trued. While they managed to do this they also managed to break a spoke. Their solution don't fix or call simply let the customer turn up and try to claim that the spoke broke by magic Totally crazy.. Paid full price for this job will never return

I'm a long time customer of Burkes Cycles. They have the biggest range of bikes & accessories I've seen in New Zealand and super experienced & knowledgeable staff. Great website too.

I was hesitant at first to buy products from there due to patchy reviews, however I can report that my experiences with them have been excellent- staff are patient, friendly and go out of their way to help out. Prices are reasonable and they have a very good array of accessories- the reason why I went there in the first place. I can highly recommend Burkes Cycles.

I am unable to recommend Burkes Cycles. They do tend to be more expensive than other local shops, but I commute by bike and ride right by the shop every day so I had been a regular customer for at least five years. I hadn't had any reason to complain until it came to returning a faulty front light (it stopped working five months into a two year warranty period).

The customer service was atrocious. After over a fortnight, during which time I'd called several times to be told they hadn't heard anything/couldn't get through or said they'd find out but didn't call me back, I called and said I wanted a refund. later that day they did call me back and said they'd managed to organise a temporary replacement from the manufacturer - it would take a couple of days to arrive. I wasn't happy with this as it would have been pushing three weeks and I still didn't have a time-frame for my light to be repaired/replaced.

I was transferred to the manager and was accused of having mislead the sales staff when I bought the light ("if I'd asked for 'reliable' I wouldn't have left with the product I did"), threatened with having to pay to go to a tribunal to get it settled, and I was told that I should be liable for any postage costs for the product being returned to the manufacturer. Obviously, I got a refund in full and was not charged for postage - as per the consumer guarantees act - but there is absolutely no excuse for treating a customer in this way.

Not impressed. They seem to have a great range online and at good prices, but first they were out of stock of one item even though it said it was in stock and let me order it. Instead I asked for a slightly cheaper item. Everything arrived fine, but I had to argue with them to agree that I was due a refund (admittedly only very small) and over a week later I'm still waiting for it.

Definitely not the best shop in town but if you are in the area it may be convenient. Parking can be a problem as very little parking at all. There are places not far away that are considerably cheaper too. So not sure why they have such a mark up

Bought my 1st carbon road cycle here. Well treated by staff, fitted and bike modified for my size. I actually ride here most fine weekend's to browse from Wainuiomata. Love the outdoor tool and pump posts, brilliant idea.
