Literally the most amazing bed and breakfast in the region. Braemar has the most gorgeous location and (on clear days) the view is incomparable. The hostess was lovely and cooks up a very tasty home made meal for any dietary requirements. The rooms are nicely furnished and whilst there is no reception, you won't be worrying about that as you soak up the atmosphere. The lake is a tad cold, being fed by Glacier melt, but a swim will leave you undoubtedly refreshed and the water tastes amazing. This night was definitely one of the highlights of our trip.

The location is one of the most beautiful I have ever stayed in. The view of Mount Cook from my bedroom window was great to wake up to.

From the start, I have to say this was the highlight of our 2 week holiday around the south island. This was not the newest or most modern of all our accommodations but it had charm and warmth and it was very clean and homely. I initially feared that staying at Lake Pukaki instead of Lake Tekapo might be an error of my judgement. How wrong was I. The view was priceless. The location was perfect, it was half hour to Lake Tekapo. We arrived on a miserable wet day to find that the log fire was on and the cottage was warm and dry. This is an ideal place for farmstays, romantic getaways and for convenience of location in the Mackenzie district. If I should return to the South Island, it would be a must stay again.
