Booking essential. Don’t expect to pay less than $100 per person. Having said this, the ambiance, attentive staff who are knowledgeable and the vibe of the place is brilliant. The food, in my opinion is sublime. Worth it. Keep it up Botswana Butchery. The chef’s recommendation is tops.

Food wonderful, initially waitstaff excellent, a little slow on bringing out sides. Wanted dessert but took too long to be asked and left as a result. 4 stars.

Wish I could give 6 stars!
Although the food is slightly expensive (it is Queenstown though:)) the food and wine tasted amazing - the meat was gorgeously cooked and the sauces matched perfectly.
The service tonight was top notch. First - they found us a table, despite us accidentally booking in Auckland instead of Queenstown.
Second - they spoke to the loud, rude table of 'men' (acting like boys) beside us about their behaviour and rudeness. When that didn't help, the manager moved us upstairs away from the obnoxiousness and we went back to enjoying our meal.

Lovely location, good service and nice atmosphere. We got the dry aged T bone steak which was $125. It was good but not really good enough to be $125! Also you'd think if you're paying that much for a steak you wouldn't get charged $3 per sauce.

Awesome high-end restaurant, make sure you book ahead as it's popular. The meat cuts were amazing as were the oysters and soft shell crab. The food is actually European/french-ish with lots of meat, not really African. I think it's just called Botswana as the chef worked in botswana for a long time before coming to NZ.

Amazing service! The food was 10 out of 10 😍 had our own little cute room and I asked the waiter his recommendations and wow amazing oysters. I've come here every time I've come to Queenstown

This restaurant deserves all the praise it receives. Great food, warm inviting style and staff who are extremely friendly and attentive. Ordered a variety of dishes, all were fresh and packed with flavour. Meats were cooked perfectly and melted in the mouth. They had a great lounge upstairs with an open fire.

The best best scotch fillet/rib eye I have ever had and I've had many around the world! Loved all that we ordered - ceviche, tempura crab and lamb ribs. The server was extremely friendly. Oh yes we didn't have a reservation, advised to have one, but were quickly seated. You don't expect good service when tipping is not mandatory such as in US but pleasantly surprised.
