A really good and convenient place to stay, Paihia and its surrounding area provides you with an excellent base from which you can explore the very north of the island. Cape Reinga is a must as is a Bay of Islands tour. The Bounty Motel is comfortable, the accommodation and facilities very good and the staff are friendly, helpful and only too willing to offer advice on trips, sights etc.

Stayed there for 2 nights from 9th Oct. The tv was in the corner of the lounge on a small square table, obstructed by the curtain. I went to move the table and the leg (where it joins to the table) pinched my finger causing a blood blister. My friend turned the table over, to tighten the leg, which was unable to tighten. All 4 legs were the samehanging by the screws! My friend took the table to reception. A while later the Owner/Manager came with a bedside drawer to sit the tv on.
A couple of hours later, i could smell an unpleasant odour coming from the bathroom.. as the clock ticked the smell got worse! Unbearablemy friend was reluctant to report it 2 reception..because of the table thing..but i was adament to tell them or i will be leaving..it was so gross!!
We both went to report it. This older guy appears with attitude. I told him what the problem was. He replied 'oh, we have spent all afternoon looking around in Kerikeri for that stand to sit the tv on!' (are you for real mate??) " oh did you see the table?" I asked. He said he didnt, as he went out back. The owner came out, cheerful and willing to help. So thankful he cares about his guests and only wants 'to keep his customers happy'.
Both problems solved.
I have so much more to say about our stay in that particular unit, that annoyed me. I will not stay there again.. once bitten twice shy!response / report this review -

Had a wonderful stay at The Bounty.big clean room. Great ocean views from windows and balcony. Very helpful lady in reception.

Very nice rooms, clean with quality furnishings. My only issue is the noise between rooms. Got woken up early by the people upstairs

Have had the best night. Wonderful rooms, very clean. Beds were amazing had an awesome night. Close to everything in town as it was all in walking distance. Really reasonable room pricing for this walk in person with no booking.

We stayed in a family room for one night. This motel has an excellent location. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Our room was tastefully decorated, comfortable and offered a partial sea view. Reasonable rates. Would certainly recommend this property to others!
