This place is great. Even if you don't like vegetarian food, the food here is great. The only dish I know of to avoid is the nasi goreng, it's a bit plain.

I can't praise Aunty Mena's highly enough. I've eaten here several times, and everything was spectacular (especially the Laksa and Dumpling Laksa). Everything is cooked fresh to order at the front of the restaurant, the staff are warm and welcoming, and you can taste how much love and care goes into the food.

I thought this place was overrated.
Heard great things and though the staff were really nice and the food was average to good. The prices were average and then venue is very low key.
If you're vegan it's got good selection but quality is pretty average.

This is a great vegetarian /vegan restaurant. They pack so much flavor into each dish. The fact it's always quite busy is a reflection of how good they are.

Are you a vegetarian or vegan? You must try this place! If you're a meat lover, this place is still worth a try. They have plenty of mock meat dishes which might win you over. The service is mostly quick and the dishes are spiced to cater to wide range of tolerance levels. If you're up, ask for their spicy chilli sauce.

Good vegan Asian food. It's not too expensive and you get a lot for what you pay for. I spent $40 and ended up with dinner, lunch and dinner the next night. The satay sticks are my favorite. It gets pretty busy as its quite popular, so be prepared to wait a little bit if you are more than 2 people

Disappointing. I was really excited to check out this place after seeing all the positive reviews here. That, and being a vegetarian it's very rare that I come across an exclusively vegetarian restaurant. The menu looked good and had a decent selection. I ordered the Aunty Mena's special, which turned out to be bland and flavourless - just a few mixed veggies/mushrooms/tofu in a bland garlic sauce with NO seasoning. I asked for some chilli oil sauce (which they said they had) but they forgot to serve it.. I could even see the chilli oil bottle near the counter and was literally a meter away

Seating can be a bit cramped during dinner time - I had to sit cross legged because there was no space to pull back my chair, and due to the weird design of the table, I couldn't put my feet below it and was forced to sit cross-legged. Needless to say, it was a very uncomfortable experience.

Service was slow and poor. It took over 25 mins for my dish to arrive, which was a pretty long time for a such a simple dish and that too a "popular special" (they were quite busy though, to be fair). One customer was waiting to order for over 25 mins was never even attended to! She left looking pretty disappointed and didn't return. Very sad that the staff didn't even notice her. It was all very strange, never seen anything like this in a restaurant.

On the positive side, their menu looks interesting and they have a lot of dishes. The pricing was reasonable.

But in spite of being a vegetarian and facing limited options in Wellington, I don't think I'll ever go back to Aunty Mena's.

Amazing vegetarian food at a reasonable price, freshly made. They aren't stingy with servings here. I ordered a vege curry with roti for $12.50 and was unable to finish the meal. They have meat substitutes for meat eaters to try out. There is not much seating so be prepared to wait on a busy night, or share tables if you are by yourself. Highly recommend!

Nice nasi lemak curry. Vegi nuggets we're too oily. Decour feels dirty. Great that they offer all vegetarian. Would be nice if they served brown rice. Too a bit long to get our food because it's popular; about 25 minutes
