Unfortunately this was awful. The service was terrible. We were not approached once during our dining experience and although we had high hopes for the food it was unfresh and extremely lacklustre. Constructive feedback: every ship should have a captain but Alivate seemed adrift in the ocean (or lake) of hospitality.

Nice views over the lake from the first floor. A shame some of the kitchen equipment was broken when we visited, limiting the menu, but the food we had was good

Brilliant food. Good service. Me and my wife love this type of food because its something different and good. It's not the same old same old that you usually get at other resteraunts.

Staff were flustered and didn't provide the warmest welcome as though it was an inconvenience to walk into the restaurant and ask for a table. It is a restaurant after all. We ordered the venison curry which was lacking in flavor and somehow managed to have a consistently rubbery texture across all ingredients. The roti bread looked and tasted like puff pastry cut into semi circles. This isn't even exaggerating. It was like eating the surroundings of a sausage roll with your curry, so wasn't disgusting but definitely not what we were looking for to accompany the curry.
