Excellent, chilled out campground an easy distance from Wanaka. Nabbing a spot that backs on to the river is a must, as the view is rather incredible. Decent enough toilets, although there seem to only be a few for the whole campground, which is rather large.
A lovely basic site with lost of space. Very informal, just park up where it suits you - down by the river or beneath trees. Has flush toilets and sinks for washing. Water is clean but not treated. Views of mountains and river from most of the site. At 10 NZD per adult it's great value.
$10 pp nice spot by waterfront
Alberttown camperground was a large camperground with clean basic toilet. Nice place to stay for a night before heading to the next destination. NZ$10pp self register at the entrance.e
It's an okay camp near Wanaka, the cheapest around. No showers, but the toilets were clean and you can fill up water tanks - water is potable. Recommended!
For $10 pn - i was happy. No frills, tap and several sinks with running water for dishes. Close to wanaka town centre. Rubbish skip on site. Chronic shortage of picnic tables. Drop loos. Ive had DOC charge me more for less convenience and facilities so happy camper here. Ground soft if you look for a good spot. Right beside the river which is v pleasant. No sandfly problem for me.
Price with 10$ p.p ok. You have a toilet but nothing else. It's close to wanaka and the campground is very large so you have no problem to find good spot. You can camp close to the river.
we loved staying here too, so close to the river, will be back this year. is this the council run camping ground where you pay at a box? if so then we enjoyed our stay and good walks but other campers ruined it for us by leaving their rubbish for us, hopefully that wont happen again this year
Great place for a stop, so close to the road. River is nice, great swings!
Great camping ground. Close to the river and shop
