While not being able to make the full crossing due to bad weather, they took us up anyway as far as possible. Quite amazing to traverse knee deep snow

What a day! Magical experience and not without its challenges. The weather started off very dubious with strong winds forecast but Stew had said we would see how we go and the slower we went initially the more chance we had to get up and over when the winds died down. Lucky for me as I was struggling quite a bit the first couple of hours. But they kept me motivated and wow! We watched several unprepared people walk back to the start but our timing, crampons and great guiding got us to the top for some spectacular views then all the way over. It was a long day but an amazing one in such incredible country. Thank you to Stew and Tyler for getting us over and to the bus before it got dark.

We did the alpine crossing. When we arrived after 7h 40 min the bus that should pick us up again had already left. After 2 hours waiting in the cold (and 4 calls) they send us a replacement bus for an extra 200 dollars (no receipt either) and the driver complained how we ruined his evening, that we must be the slowest perseons ever while he only needs 2,5 h for the whole crossing.

Travelled from Ontario, Canada. My wife and I did the full Alpine Crossing hike which is 19 km long. It took us about 7.5 hours to complete. The conditions were not great for our trip (rain, fog, wind) however the hike was still spectacular. Views from the top make the climb worthwhile. The tour guides were knowledgeable and friendly and did a great job of checking in with the group to ensure no one felt unsafe. This hike is physically exhausting so you must have a decent level of fitness to complete the full Crossing. Would recommend for those that enjoy this type of adventure.

The guide Andrea was awesome. You could tell she really knew her stuff and was very warm and kind. Now, the 2 stars are because we were really close to go on the hike just wearing our tennis and cotton pants because the guy on the base store was reluctant to give us the gear, argumenting it was a matter of preferences. We could have never made the hike whitout these as the track was full of snow and wet. Absolutely irresponsible. We could have had a reeallyy bas time if we were to listen to his advice.

Great guided tour of the Tongariro Crossing! Well-run trip with friendly, knowledgeable, and competent guides. We enjoyed learning from the guide and felt safe given how quickly the conditions can change. Consider inquiring with them to help gauge your fitness-level and preparation for the trek.
