  Sonam Sherpa was a wonderful guide throughout my trek from Lukla to Thame and back (3 nights). He ensured that I was always comfortable, watched closely for signs of Altitude sickness (he understood that I had trained minimally for the trek), made excellent recommendations of where to stop or take a photo, knew all the mountains (other guides from Kathmandu asked him for identifying the mountains in Nepali), knew the animals and birds and flowers (including the national bird and many mountain goats) and answered my never ending questions (infrastructure, plumbing, the schools, the markets, the origin of the goods sold, Mani Stones, history of monuments, etc). Upon my request, I visited a local school and met his wonderful family when we walked through Monjo. He was always very patient and extremely kind (helping the local kids tie up a tree swing while I took a rest), and he knows almost everyone that passed us on the trail, and they all greeted him with respect. I highly recommend Sonam as a guide whether you are 1 person or 20.
