Do not expect a lot of infrastructure on this gate, the main thing you can do here is pay, get your ticket, meet your compulsory nature guide and have your ticket checked by the military.

I went actually to participate in the vipassana dhyana camp, I noticed that the gate to enter the park is adjacent. Security did not allowed to peep inside. Very rude.

$10 to enter the park with a mountain bike. Do not support these scammers. There are plenty of ways to enter the park for free. If you do choose to go for free, avoid the main gates. The park service has used veiled threats against those who refuse to support their graft. The exact words: "You know they (the army) can shoot you if you do not have a ticket". Truly a shameful stain upon a great mountain biking location.

If you do pay this money to the forest service, understand that it goes directly to the pockets of the forest warden and his lackeys. His duties include taking tea all day in his office. The park is littered with trash, no effort is made to maintain the natural beauty. Some of the locations where the army frequently picnics are the worst. Broken glass bottles, empty bags from chips, and other litter surround the waterfall on the army college side.

Your best bet is to enter away from the army college area all together. The forest is beautiful. Mountain bikers should exercise caution around blind corners. You may find a large and frightened water buffalo when you least expect it. Dismount your bicycle and slowly proceed around him. I have also encountered a king cobra on the trail in Shivapuri. Do be careful, but do not be overly weary.

Again, please do not support the abusive park service and their exorbitant fees. Supporting their abusive fee structure even just once as a tourist ruins access for resident expatriates. Thanks.
