  Clean, new building. Downside is they are still working on the new building so it is very noisy at noon, could not sleep in, and pretty expensive compared to other nearby guest houses

  Ideally situated on the southern edge of Thamel, Potala is a lovely guesthouse with both budget and mid-range rooms. The newly built mid-range rooms are clean and spacious, with comfortable beds, wardrobe, kettle, safe, and desk. The bathroom and shower are also nice but note that it takes the hot water about 5-10 minutes to reach the bathroom. Overall this is a great place to stay with a friendly accommodating staff and an attached restaurant that serves up good meals. It may not look like much from the main street but once you get inside there is a nice lobby and calm courtyard with tables.

  Good hotel. Clean room and bathroom. Room's are a bit small and toilets and very small. No elevator. Room rates are ok. No breakfast included

  This property is owned by a Tibetan family. It's located at the center of Kathmandu, inside Thamel. The rooms are pretty good. It has very good foreign exchange service as well.
