Enjoyed our stay 100%! The design is well-thought with the perfect combination of traditional Nepalese housing style with Japanese architecture elements. The owner is super warm and sweet - he shared so much insights on the country, its history, culture and future development which we otherwise wouldn’t know about. We chatted around the fireplace until we couldn’t keep our eyes open. And of course the view is always amazing! Strongly recommended.
Rarely, do we find places secluded from habitation or on paths less travelled.
This is one of those gems, nestled in the lap of nature, at the foothills of Dhaulagiri. Wherever, you pan your camera, you'll only see beautiful landscapes.
Lodge Thasang Village was mainly built to cater to Japanese crowd, who come visiting to a nearby monastery. They also have a helipad in the compound. They have some 7-8 rooms built on a first floor of the wooden building. Ground floor has a restaurant, bar, sitting area with a chimney, reception, kitchen.
They have a Japanese interpreter to help make things easy. This place is run by a Nepalese guy, not too warm to Indians(from my personal experience).
The chef can cook local as well as Japanese delicacies. The food served is tasty.
Rooms are decent size and comfortable. But, the arrangement to keep the place warm are not sufficient. They should have a heat convector in each room. The current arrangement of a hot water pipe running through the room is not enough. We literally froze during our stay here and it was November end. Imagine, peak winters. And, It's very cold over here in winter.
Everything about this place is good, except the interaction with the owner, otherwise this place would have got 5 stars from me.
Service was great and spectacular mountain scenery. However in winter, heating system for the entire lobby would be recommended.
