The oldest guest house located at the heeart of tourist city Thamel is known by Guest house but it has facilities of star hotels. Very popular with international travelers with good feedback. Now the front gate road is vehicle probhited rod which added peaceful environment to this guest house. Highly recommended .

Great rooms and staff! This was a perfect first stop and launch-point for our EBC trek. We were greeted by a warm staff, and though the rooms are minimal compared to a traditional western accommodations, they had all the necessities. The location is also in the center of the tourist hub of Nepal.

KGH is a beautiful place. The restaurant and gardens are stunning since it's renovation after the 2005 earthquake.
The rooms are simple but the service is good and the gardens offer a great escape and meeting place from the inner streets of Thamel.response / report this review -

Amazing feature of the hotel is situated in a crowded centre area of thamel but yet it is do peaceful and relaxing inside hotel .. great staffs.. very efficient and dedicated to their jobs.. clean and comfortable 100% .. I loved their breakfast and they do have great coffee actually which is all what I need to start my day.. everything is just impressive!

One of the renowned hotels at the most tourist popular area : Thamel at Kathmandu, Nepal. Outside area including restaurant is very attractive and beautiful. Just mind blowing. However, rooms are not up to the mark as expected. Maintenance is poor beside room services. Complementary breakfast is fine but airport shuttle is the worst.

Stayed here for 6 days and i could not fault it. The room was spacious and was in a central location to markets, restaurants and historic monuments. The staff are very friendly and are concerned for your happiness. The hotel is secure with a gate closing at night and only letting the guests in. If I return to Kathmandu, this would be my choice hotel.

This was the place to stay in the late 70s and early 80s. I stored my equipment here between expeditions. Good simple place to return to after each excursion. I honestly don't know what it's like now, but at the time it was the place where a many mountaineers and serious trekkers stayed in between adventures.

This place is like an oasis in the narrow streets of hustling Thamel in Kathmandu. This place is quite an old one and their basic rooms are in the old wing itself. But if one prefer more Comfort then should book deluxe rooms in new wing. Restaurant at the hotel serves tasty food. And they have a bar as well. It has garden areas and a cafe as well. Inside as well as outside seating make it a good option to relax in Thamel. Also to mention that World Famous Beatles band stayed at this hotel and hotel has dedicated a floor in their memory with pictures hanging around. Treat for their fans

Property is situated in the heart of Thamal Area of kathmandu. Its a 2 star guest house. Having a large Garden and services are nice. Garden side rooms are very lovely. Garden restaurant is nice place to sit and take a nice cup of Coffee. Over all nice experience at calm place.

It is a beautiful property if you discount the rooms which are slightly old and smallish for their price. The garden area is beautiful to have a cup of tea or coffee under the sun.
The service is great though. But if you are used to bigger newer rooms you can give this a skip.response / report this review
