Very nice place / Value for money and the team who runs the place is very helpful and trustworthy - You can contact them via Fb before going or planning your trip - they arrange trekking as well

The homestay is located quite inside the lane, not by the mainroad. We had a little tough time following Google maps while locating but the plus point is the peacefulness and serenity, away from the hustle of the road.
We got the room on the rooftop with an attached bathroom. The view is wonderful. The room is cozy and accommodable for two people. However, The bathroom was not in excellent condition. Since it was a one night stay we didn't bother to tell the owner.response / report this review -

Poor experience with the staff There was a discrepancy between the price I booked online and the price he was asking The staff just flipped on me and was super impatient I wouldn't recommend and I wouldn't go back there.

Great peaceful and relatively quiet place to stay in the Thamel tourist area of Kathmandu. Comfortable bed. We'll stay here again when passing through Kathmandu.

Great hotel, in a great location, the people running the guest house are like family. I would highly recommend this place after staying here myself and having an enjoyable stay at a decent price!

I stayed at Family Peace House several times during my stay in Nepal in between my trekking and sightseeing. The location of the guesthouse is really convenient to Thamel but far enough away to be within a local neighborhood. The advantage is that you have many economical local restaurants nearby and you can experience Nepali daily life around you. The guesthouse is on a tiny lane way that.can accommodate taxis but there is no thru traffic so it is easy walk and very quiet for sleeping and sitting in the garden. The guesthouse has many places to sit and relax from the restaurant at the front to the roof top which has great views over the city and the mts, It;s also a great place to practice yoga.The rooms are very bright with lots of windows and ours had an attached bath with a very large shower. Every time i returned I was welcomed back by Bimal and Hemraj and staff. This is a family run guesthouse which I prefer because this allows more contact with the locals. I would recommend Family Peace House as an economical and enjoyable place to stay while in Kathmandu. .

I already stayed 5 times at Family Peace House, and I will come back as for me it provides a home and everything I need in Kathmandu.
The staff is really friendly and helpful;
Great clean rooms and fair prices, some rooms even come with private balcony!
Hot showers (after two weeks of trekking and cold ones you will want them)
Precise and correct information about all travel/trekking/rafting/other issues
Free, fast and reliable WIFI
A beaaauuuutfil view from the roof top - you can see the Monkey Temple
Delicious food
and it's a bit outside of Thamel so not so crowded, loud. You have the occasional dogs barking at night but they are everywhere in KTM.response / report this review
